Macintosh PICT (.PIC, .PICT) File Format
The .PICT is a graphics (bitmapped and vector) file format which was developed by Apple Computer in 1984 as a native metafile format for Apple Macintosh computers. PICT was the native graphics format for QuickDraw, the graphics system of Macintosh. Most Mac applications support PICT file format.
The .PICT can contain 32 bits color bitmapped images and vector shapes. The .PICT may store image data as PackBits or JPEG encoded. It supports grayscale, indexed colors, RGB or CMYC images. PICT file format is widely used on Apple Macintosh computers.
